Weck Hem-o-lok Extra-Large Ligating Clip Applier is a reusable manual surgical instrument designed for applying compatible extra-large Hem-o-lok polymer ligating clips during open surgical procedures. The applier features an 11-inch (approximately 28 cm) curved shaft that provides extended reach and access during surgical ligation.
The curved design of the Weck Hem-o-lok Extra-Large Ligating Clip Applier can be useful when working in deeper or less accessible operative areas. Its configuration allows the instrument to be positioned around the intended vessel, duct, or tissue structure before applying the compatible clip.
The applier is specifically designed for use with the corresponding extra-large Hem-o-lok clip cartridge. It should only be used with the compatible clip size. The Hem-o-lok polymer ligation system is designed for controlled clip-based ligation during appropriate surgical procedures.
Weck Hem-o-lok Extra-Large Ligating Clip Applier is designed to hold and position the compatible clip around the target structure before closure. During clip engagement, an audible double-click provides feedback to help indicate correct loading. The instrument should be operated according to the manufacturer's Instructions for Use and should not be forced onto the clip.
The compatible Hem-o-lok clips feature a locking mechanism and retaining teeth designed to help maintain clip position after application. The polymer clip system also uses colour coding to correspond with the appropriate applier and clip cartridge, helping with clip-size identification.
