- Rexipra 5 Tablet is primarily used for the management of depression (major depressive episodes) and anxiety disorders, including panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia), social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
- It is also sometimes used for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
- The active ingredient, Escitalopram, is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that works by altering the levels of certain brain chemicals (serotonin) to elevate mood and relieve anxiety and tension.
- The tablet can be taken with or without food as directed by the doctor.
- Dosing is individualized and may start at a lower amount, gradually increased by the physician.
- Do not alter or abruptly stop the medication without consulting your doctor due to risk of withdrawal symptoms.
