- MERIZELLE™ Absorbable Hemostat is a sterile, absorbable knitted fabric produced by controlled oxidation of regenerated cellulose.
- Contains 95–100% oxygenated regenerated cellulose and water (0–5%).
- White to pale yellow in color with a faint caramel-like aroma; slight discoloration may occur with age, but this does not affect performance.
- Available as a fine-weaved structured material (Standard variant) approved for use in nephrological, neurological, and general surgical procedures.
- Completely absorbable; integrates into tissue and/or absorbed within 1–2 weeks if left in place.
- Meets United States Pharmacopeia (U.S.P.) standards for oxidized regenerated cellulose.
