Ivabrad 7.5 Tablet is used for the treatment of angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart) and chronic (long-term) heart failure in adults whose heart rate is above specified limits and who either cannot tolerate certain other heart medicines or require additional therapy.
Contains Ivabradine as the active ingredient, a hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated channel blocker that works by slowing the heart rate and reducing the heart's oxygen demand, thereby controlling or reducing the risk of angina attacks and heart failure events.
Should be taken with food, at the same time each day. Dosage and duration are strictly as per doctor's prescription.
Most commonly used as a long-term therapy; abrupt discontinuation without consulting a doctor is not advised.

Side Effects
Common side effects include temporary visual brightness/flashes (phosphenes), slow heart rate (bradycardia), dizziness, blurred vision, high blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, ECG changes, headache, fatigue. More serious but rare side effects include fainting and significant changes to your heartbeat, swelling of the face, lips, difficulty breathing (allergic reaction).
Precautions and Warnings
Do not use if you have severe liver impairment, acute decompensated heart failure, sick sinus syndrome, clinically significant hypotension, or if your resting heart rate is low. Not recommended during pregnancy/breastfeeding. Caution is advised in patients taking other medicines metabolized by CYP3A4, or those with other arrhythmias.
