- GLUCONORM G 0.5 FORTE TAB is used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and a single agent do not achieve adequate glycemic control.
- It is a combination medicine containing Glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) and Metformin (a biguanide), both belonging to the class of antidiabetic agents.
- Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin, and Metformin decreases glucose production by the liver and enhances insulin sensitivity.
- This medication is only for use under medical supervision and not suitable for type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or in children under 18 years.
