- GLIZID 40 Tablet is used in adults for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes alone are insufficient.
- Contains the active ingredient Gliclazide, which belongs to the sulfonylurea class of antidiabetic agents.
- Acts by stimulating the pancreas to secrete more insulin and increases the body's sensitivity to insulin, thereby lowering blood glucose levels.
- Helps prevent complications of diabetes such as retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, diabetic foot ulcers, and delayed wound healing.
- Should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes, severe liver or kidney disease, or in pregnant/breastfeeding women without guidance.
- Prescribed alongside lifestyle modifications like a healthy diet, regular exercise, and avoiding alcohol.
- Manages type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults.
