FERINJECT 500MG 10ML is an intravenous iron preparation containing ferric carboxymaltose, used for the treatment of iron deficiency when oral iron is ineffective or unsuitable.
Each 10 mL vial contains ferric carboxymaltose corresponding to 500 mg elemental iron, supplied as a sterile, preservative-free, dark brown aqueous solution.
Primarily indicated for adults and adolescents (aged 14+) for rapid iron replenishment based on clinical need and laboratory confirmation of iron deficiency conditions.
The medicine should be administered in a setting where trained staff and resuscitation facilities are available, due to risk of severe hypersensitivity (including anaphylactic reactions).
Patients must be observed for at least 30 minutes after each administration.
Treatment of iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia
Rapid iron replenishment in situations where oral iron is ineffective or intolerable
Used when there is a clinical need for fast elevation of iron stores, such as in chronic kidney disease or after major blood loss
