The light body has the lowest viscosity and is placed on hard and soft tissues to record accurate surface details of tooth preparations even in presence of moisture because of its superior hydrophilicity.
Clinically, improved hydrophilicity of Avue Gum Light body results in better wettability of the tooth surfaces, and performance in a moist environment.
The impressive flowability and self-levelling of Avue Gum wash materials not only lead to highly precise capture of details, but also avoid air voids, flashes and imperfections.
High tear strength of Avue gum reduces the risk that the impression material tears off upon mouth removal.
Another essential aspect for clinical success: The impression material must withstand all the forces it is exposed to upon removal from the mouth.
Avue gum impressions are rigid enough to withstand all the compression forces Otherwise, the impression will experience a permanent deformation, a so-called distortion. Distortions can be the reason for poorly fitting restorations. They usually are not known until the final restoration is ready for seating. Avue Gum is dimensionally stable showing a minimum amount of shrinkage.
